How Do You Sterilise Glass Jars In The Oven

How do you sterilise glass jars in the oven. Arrange the jars on the oven shelf making sure the jars are not touching each other. I dont have a dishwasher or microwave so I always use the oven method to sterilise my glass jars. Heat of 220 degrees F kills bacteria and sterilize the jars.
Time the sterilisation well so you take the jars out of the oven when your food that you wish to preserve is ready to go into the jars. Close the food and sterilise the jars for at least 20 minutes. Lay 2 layers of newspaper on the ovens shelves but not on its floor.
Fill the jars with preserves. Do not dry your jars. Turn on the oven using a temperature between 100 degrees C and 130 degrees C.
Arrange your glass jars inside the oven and see to it that they do not touch each other. Remove the jar labels soaking if necessary. Place jars neck up on an oven tray and place tray in oven for minimum 20 minutes.
Learn the correct way to sterilise jars to make them safe for adding preserves and pickles. Use a dishtowel or air day the jars completely to make sure all moisture left on the glass is absorbed. Or you can put jars in a large pot of boiling water for 10 minutes then drain upside down on a clean tea towel and dry in the oven.
So you need to time your dishwasher cycle to ensure the jars are hot and dry when you need them. Set the jars to air dry completely. Line each oven shelf with a double layer of newspaper or baking paper making sure to keep the paper away from any flames.
